A creative, personalized journey into the relationships between food and yoga, season by season.
Date: Saturday, October 21, 2017
Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Teacher: Colleen Leonardi
Location: Kasa Yoga and Wellness
What nourishes the body is food. What nourishes the mind and spirit is yoga. Join Colleen Leonardi as we explore these two fundamental practices of living day-to-day in rhythm with the seasons where we live. Whether you love food or are just curious about how to incorporate healthy, vitalizing choices for your meal plans, come join us. Together, we’ll create our own ways of eating local while using yoga-inspired approaches to cooking and self-care. Our time together this autumn includes a warming asana practice followed by a full practice of pranayama and meditation customized to support respiratory wellness for the season by connecting to the intimate matrix of the lungs and heart.
Our OM Eats: Autumn workshop also includes:
• Book of the Season—A healthy, harmonizing cookbook to use in your kitchen. Our autumn pick is Body Into Balance: An Herbal Guide to Holistic Self-Care by herbalist Maria Noël Groves. You can purchase the book at her website, or check it out at our workshop for purchase on your own afterwards.
• Local Shopping List—Colleen’s picks of what to look for at the markets in autumn, local herbalists and botanical brands to check out for your home apothecary and how to store your farmers market finds for winter.
• Tasting of Seasonal Treats—Featuring local, organic ingredients, we’ll sample homemade Chai, herbal tea blends for the respiratory system and have the opportunity to meet beforehand for an herbal pizza tasting at Dewey’s Pizza next door to Kasa!
• Your Food Love Story—A personal, private map of your food traditions and health outcomes and your current cooking/dining choices for autumn, all created in an exploratory, non-judgmental space. Join us and learn to love the food that loves your body.
